Independent Sales Representative

Key Responsibilities

  • Open and develop new retail accounts within your assigned territory.
  • Grow sales within existing accounts through regular visits, product presentations, and merchandising.
  • Call on Christian bookstores, gift shops, boutiques, Hallmark stores, hospital gift shops, pharmacies, florists, grocery stores, churches, schools, ministries, and related outlets.
  • Present and sell from a 2,000+ SKU catalog, including 200–400 new product launches twice per year.
  • Visit accounts a minimum of 2–3 times per year for selling, restocking, and new product introductions.
  • Attend and actively sell at major trade shows and company sales meetings.
  • Enter and manage orders using our iPad-based order system with barcode scanning.
  • Communicate regularly with sales management regarding account activity, opportunities, and forecasts.

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in wholesale or field sales, preferably in gifts, books, or Christian retail.
  • Strong working knowledge of the Christian (CBA) marketplace.
  • Existing relationships with Christian bookstores, gift shops, or specialty retailers highly preferred.
  • Proven ability to open new accounts and grow territory revenue.
  • Comfortable selling large catalogs with frequent new product releases.
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage a travel and appointment schedule independently.
  • Professional, relationship-focused selling style.
  • Comfortable working as part of a national sales team.

Travel Requirements

  • Ability to travel throughout your territory 2–3 times per year.
  • Attendance at 1–2 major trade shows per year.
  • Attendance at company sales meetings and conferences.

Compensation & Structure

  • Independent 1099 sales representative position.
  • Commission-only compensation based on shipped sales.
  • No caps on earnings — your income grows as your accounts grow.
